Types

Basically, there are two types of water heaters - gas and electric - with dozens of different models and sizes. Gas and electric water storage tank heaters operate in similar ways and range in size from 20 to 80 gallons. An electric water heater can be used most anywhere, whereas a gas water heater is typically installed in a home that already uses gas.
